Dr. Rakesh Suri is Professor of Surgery and a Consultant in the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at Mayo Clinic College in Rochester Minnesota. He is Director of the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Program, Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship Program, Didactic Education Coordinator for the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery, Chair of the Mayo Clinic Robotics Practice, Chair Cardiovascular Research Committee, Medical Director and Progressive Care Unit Chair, Program Chair for the Novel Technologies Department of Surgery, Chair of the Structural Heart Disease Innovation and Research, and Associate Thoracic Residency Program Director. He is National PI for the FDA Sorin PERCEVAL Trial, a member of the Governance Board for the St. Jude Medical PORTICO Trial and a member of the Edwards PARTNER Trial Publications Committee. He is an author of 148 manuscripts, 9 textbook chapters and has 11 patents. He completed Medical School and General Surgery training at the University of Toronto, Cardiothoracic training at Mayo Clinic and a doctorate in Immunology at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar.
